Hello, and thank you for visiting Rodin Legal's company website and my attorney profile. My name is Joshua Rodin, and I am the founder of Rodin Legal, LLC. I started Rodin Legal with one major goal in mind: to help as many people and businesses as I could by capitalizing on my wide range of legal knowledge and experience.
Before opening Rodin Legal, for nearly six years I served as an assistant attorney general under Illinois Attorney General, Lisa Madigan. My early work at the Attorney General's Office (AG's Office) was in creditor's rights law, and I collected hundreds of thousands of dollars owed to the state and Illinois taxpayers. Additionally, I wrote and presented seminars to educate other lawyers on creditor's rights issues at both the Chicago and Springfield AG's Offices.
For four years I handled torts litigation and competently defended Illinois employees in car accident cases and state doctors/nurses in medical malpractice matters. I helped these individuals avoid judgments from being entered against them while saving taxpayers large sums of money in the process.
I also worked in the Employment unit of the AG's Office and successfully defended state agencies and employees in Title VII, ADA, FMLA, and other workplace discrimination cases. By taking thorough depositions and writing persuasive legal briefs, I managed to get many employment cases dismissed before trial. Through my hard work and dedication, the parties I represented were spared both the ordeal of going to trial and the threat of owing significant amounts of money in damages.
Of course, at times trial was either unavoidable or in the best interests of my client. I have tried and won cases in both state circuit court and administrative courts (such as the Illinois Civil Service Commission and Secretary of State Merit Commission). Additionally, I have gained significant experience handling federal district court matters, bankruptcy proceedings, mechanic's lien actions, workplace or office grievances, and employee disciplinary hearings (in which a worker might be suspended, discharged, or fired from his or her job).
Whether you are considering court action in order to assert your legal rights as a plaintiff or you are already involved in an action because you have been sued as a defendant, I encourage you to contact me. Should we enter into an attorney-client relationship, I will competently represent you both in and out of court. I am a masterful negotiator at the settlement table and a passionate advocate in the courtroom. Whether I reach a favorable settlement on your behalf or fight for you on your 'day in court,' rest assured I will be there for you every step of the way.
Beyond my experience in the courtroom, I have also developed ample skills in the handling of legal transactions outside of court. Real estate, income tax, incorporation and limited liability company (LLC) formation, contracts, and the Uniform Commercial Code are just some examples of the transactional areas I have learned. I encourage you to seek my assistance in your business dealings, corporate transactions, estate planning, sales or purchases of real property and closings, as well as other personal, legal needs.
